A Good Life

Well what can I say I do live a good... actually a great life!!! And not because of materialistic things but friends and family. Recently I have just been sooooo grateful for all of the support and love I have in my life... and I want to say thank you!!!! Cheesy I know... but recently I have been able to catch up with people like my best friend who lives in Florida, my sister, my best friend in Albany, my parents, and even friends in the old town of Athens. And no worries if we have not talked... I still love you!!!!

So what is new with me... not much... I am pretty boring huh? Well of course there is school and we are at midpoint/midterm which is insane since we just started. However, I am loving the fact that it is fall and football season. Everyone say a prayer around 7:30 on Saturday night for the UGA football team... this week we play Tennessee and we will need any reinforcement we can get.

I have been a little sick the past few days... first a sore throat and now all the drainage... which is usually a good sign, but it is a pain in the rear due to the fact that I have one functional nostril and it is all draining from one. Just got a good visual huh?! Sorry... a little disgusting, but true!!!

This past weekend I went to Boone, NC with some girlfriends and had a blast. It was a gorgeous view the entire time, and the leaves were beginning to change... YEAH for fall!!! I actually can't wait for everything to start changing because then Athens is just magnificently beautiful.

Well I am looking forward to the rest of this week... hopefully it will be as great as the first half!!!

LOVIN' LIFE

Well let me begin with this past weekend... we had a party Friday which was a great success!!! Then we barely won the game on Saturday against Colorado, but we did WIN... and a WIN is a WIN!!!!! I also saw Aunt Erin and Uncle Dick... it was a good surprise to see them. Sunday I went to a movie with Karen and Erin, and we saw the Last Kiss. I liked it, different than I was expecting, but I liked it.

This week has been more than fabulous thus far. No major projects or tests this week, so just kind of taking it easy. I had lunch with Dad today... and I had the best quiche. Then I had a body assessment made at the gym I just joined. I realized I was little heavier than I thought... so lets just say I will be enjoying my new membership and using it to its fullest!!!!! Tonight I did a service scavenger hunt with Gamma Sig. Then was Project Runway with the girls... and YEAH Michael is still in!!!!

Tomorrow I am going to a SNL social with a Gamma Sig and another fraternity. It is scary, but I found a perfect outfit to match the character I am going as... it is kind of scary actually. I am going as Sally O'Malley... the "I'm Fifty!!!" lady... plus she constantly kicks, and also likes to say "I love it". Should be entertaining if nothing else... and no worries I will be taking pictures to capture the evening.

This weekend I am heading up to Boone, NC to visit a friend. He goes to App. State, and we are going to their Homecoming game. Should be cool weather and fun times. Looking forward to coming home in a month... it has been WAY TOO LONG since I have seen the good ol' city of ALBANY!!!! I am also excited because when I go home, the fair will be there... and I missed it last year. Wish I had more time or longer days to accomplish all the stuff I need/want to do like write letters and mail to friends, or take a nap, or even read a good book. Well that is it for me tonight... listening to : Rainbow by Elisa.

It Has Been To Long

Sorry everyone... it is no excuse but I have truly been busy. Always seems to be my excuse, but it is TRUE.

So lets see if I can get you caught up to speed... The past two weeks with my Lab Manager job have been insanely busy and I wanted to kill some participants earlier in the week. Most are really grateful, but there is one in particular who I believe wants to make my life a living you know what. However, other than that, my job has been great and overall I love it.

School... well in the past two weeks I have had two tests and a paper... and now that is all done back to play time. School is going smoothly and I am still LOVING all of my classes. I went to my advising appointment the other day I discovered I only have 14 hours left and then I graduate. I can't wait!!!! Well actually I can but I am still elated!!!

In the past week I decided that after I graduate I am going to take a year off anf either get a job or an internship... this way I can see if I like I/O Psych. before I commit two years of my life to graduate school in a area I don't like or eventually want to have a job in. No worries though I still want to get my masters, just going to take a little time to get there. This way I can give 200% into applying and taking the GRE.

Well this weekend is more football and another themed party at our place tonight. Life is good.... Grey's Anatomy was on last night and FINALLY MCDREAMY told Meredith he loved her... today is Friday... and it feels amazing outside. I don't think anything can ruin a day or a week like this. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!!!

BUSY

And I am not even in the "real" world yet!!!

I have had the BEST birthday of all time I believe. I thought 21 would be the best, but the birthday I just celebrated will be pretty hard to beat!!! Last Friday and all weekend I was called my family and close friends for my birthday I just felt sooooo LOVED. Every year people call and send cards, but for some reason this year it felt more intimate and personal.

Friday night was a party at Liz's for the both of us, and then we eventually headed downtown. Saturday we spent most of the day sailing, and then to my aunt's where we were surrounded by family and tons of food. Then later on in the evening we played Balderdash. It just felt great to catch up and see everyone because it had been awhile. Sunday we ate lunch with the fam and then headed back and we all had to do homework and study.

This week is particularly busy due to the fact that this is the first week of phase one of the experiment I am assisting with. I also had my first exam in crime and aggression tonight, and tomorrow I am attending the career fair to help recruit for YV. I am excited, and I think I may have at least a handful of people interested from my classes. The remaining of the week I will be spending on reading for classes and getting ahead for a test next week. It is another home game weekend so I will be doing that on Saturday, and on Friday going to a housewarming gathering and then off to Krush Girls. Can't wait to shake what my mama gave me!!!! Hope everyone is grateful for the people they surround themselves with... and of course.... I hope your week is an excellent one!!!

P.S. Tonight I am listening to Ben Harper... on repeat with the song "Power of the Gospel"... new favorite song.

Recent Obsessions and Staying BUSY

My latest toy is my I-pod nano I bought a few weeks ago. Yhis is something I decided to splurge on after working this summer, and just honestly wanting one for some time. I love music... and now I can easily have access to it anytime. I listen while working, studying, working out, you name it. I recently downloaded more songs on it as well, and I am just too happy.

This week is entirely too busy... not really, but busy enough. My lab manager position is starting to really pick up. Today I made schedules, updated the participants list, made a contact sheet for all of the research assistants (RA'S), and made 1500 labels for the participants. I thought it would be a good idea to give each of the 200 participants their own baggy of labels which are to be used for their planners or calendars. The labels mark the different phases (which we have 6) and allow them to know what they are responsible for during each phase, as well as when and where. I think it is a great idea that I came up with, however tedious cutting labels and making 200 bags. However, I am hoping in the long run this will make my life easier, and less people will forget or have to reschedule. So pray this works!!!! I also made labels for all the RA's , grad students and Dr. Kernis as well. If I can keep everyone on the same page, it makes it easier for us all, especially me. Selfish I know.

Today I talked to the campus recruiter for YV and we discusses some plans for this semester. I am excited and feel we have the opportunity to grab some really amazing people.

Tonight was Project Runway night for the girls, and that is always FUN. Friday is the birthday party for Liz and I, and dinner with friends. Then sailing with my FABULOUS uncle, and family and friends time on Sunday. I am excited... and the countdown begins, 2 days til my birthday... really I guess only one more day!!! Well have a great Thursday!!!!!
